Good News! The Project "Preparation And Industrialization Technology Of Dry-Wound Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Resin Prepreg Materials" Passed The Appraisal Unanimously.

On June 30, 2022, the appraisal meeting for the project "Preparation and Industrialization Technology of Dry-Wound Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Resin Prepreg Materials," jointly undertaken by Shandong Jiangshan Fiber Technology Co., Ltd., Shandong Guotan Composite Materials Technology Co., Ltd., and Donghua University, was successfully held. The project's scientific and technological achievements were unanimously approved and rated as reaching the "international advanced" level.

This meeting, conducted both online and offline, was organized by the China National Textile and Apparel Council. The appraisal committee, comprised of experts including Academician Sun Jinliang of Shanghai University, Senior Engineer Zhang Dingjin of China Composite Materials Group Co., Ltd., Senior Engineer Li Guimei of the China Industrial Textiles Industry Association, Professor Wu Zhanjun of Dalian University of Technology, Professor Zu Lei of Hefei University of Technology, Senior Engineer Cong Zongjie of Weihai Tuozhan Fiber Co., Ltd., and Senior Engineer Yuan Zhuowei of Sinoma Science & Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., carefully listened to reports from Professor Zhang Hui of Donghua University, Chairman Li Xinhe of Shandong Jiangshan Fiber Technology Co., Ltd., and General Manager Dai Jun of Shandong Guotan Composite Materials Technology Co., Ltd., viewed production site videos and products, and reviewed relevant materials such as work reports, technical reports, testing reports, application reports, and novelty search reports. After rigorous questioning and discussion, the committee concluded that the project's scientific and technological achievements reached the international advanced level and unanimously agreed to pass the appraisal. The committee consisted of seven senior industry experts. The appraisal meeting also invited leaders including Zhi Jiancheng, Director of the Science and Technology Bureau of Dezhou City, Zhao Yang, Mayor of Huangheya Town, Dezhou City, and Jia Jingjing, Deputy Mayor of Huangheya Town, Dezhou City, to attend and provide guidance.

This project investigated the pre-curing mechanism and control mechanism of epoxy resin, developed a dry-winding prepreg system with matching epoxy resin and toughening and curing control technology; developed key technologies for response surface optimization based on big data to control the resin content and surface quality of prepreg yarn, and formed a complete set of technologies and equipment for one-step continuous preparation and evaluation of dry-winding carbon fiber/epoxy resin prepreg yarn; realized the continuous and stable preparation and industrial application of carbon fiber/epoxy resin prepreg materials, and developed application technologies for preparing high-performance composite materials by dry winding of prepreg yarn.

Currently, a single-line production line with a capacity of 150 tons/year of carbon fiber/epoxy resin prepreg yarn has been built and applied in fields such as rail transportation, machinery and equipment, and sports equipment, yielding good economic and social benefits. The related technological achievements have been granted 11 patents, including 3 invention patents.

Zhi Jiancheng, director of the Dezhou City Science and Technology Bureau, said that taking this appraisal meeting as an opportunity, enterprises should actively seize the high ground in technology, industry and talent, pay attention to technological innovation, and strive to create new advantages for the composite materials industry in Dezhou City.
