(Summary description)Announcement of the Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Construction on the partial revision of the national standard "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings"

Now approves the partially revised provisions of the "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings" GB50011-2010, effective August 1, 2016. The conditions of the original text after this revision are also abolished.

Partially revised articles and specific contents will be published on our website and the recently published "Engineering and Construction Standardization" publication.

The specific "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings" GB50011-2010 is partially revised as follows. Note: The underline in the lower text specification indicates the modified content; the provisions in bold are mandatory provisions and must be strictly implemented.

Revision Instructions

This partial revision is based on the requirements of the “Notice on Printing and Distributing the Revision Plan for 2014 Construction Standards” (Ministry of Construction [2013] No. 169) issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. , Research and teaching units partially revised the "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings" GB 50011-2010.

The main contents of this partial revision include two aspects:

1 According to "China Earthquake Parameter Zoning Map" GB18306-2015 and "People's Republic of China Administrative Division 2015" and the Ministry of Civil Affairs issued the 2015 administrative division change communiqué, amend "Building Seismic Design Code" GB50011-2010 Appendix A "China's main Urban seismic fortification intensity, design basic earthquake acceleration, and design earthquake grouping".

2 In accordance with the "Codes for Seismic Design of Buildings" GB50011-2010 since the implementation of the feedback and suggestions from all parties, some provisions have been adjusted in writing. During the revision process, opinions from various parties were widely consulted, and specific revisions were repeatedly discussed and revised, coordinated with relevant standards, and finally finalized after review.

This partial revision involves a modification of an appendix and 10 articles, namely Appendix A and Article 3.4.3, Article 3.4.4, Article 4.4.1, Article 6.4.5, Article 7.1.7 , Article 8.2.7, Article 8.2.8, Article 9.2.16, Article 14.3.1, Article 14.3.2.

The underlined part of the provisions of this specification is the modified content; the provisions in bold are mandatory provisions and must be strictly implemented.
